Oliver Burkeman

Oliver Burkeman is a columnist for The Guardian Weekend.  While working at Canongate we publicised both of Oliver’s books Help! How to Become Slightly Happier and Get a Bit More Done, and The Antidote:  Happiness for People Who Can’t Stand Positive Thinking

The campaign was designed to reach people who would not normally read ‘self-help’ books as well as generate debate and column inches

We commissioned one of the first animations by the RSA, which generated 136k views, had a significant impact on book sales and broadened Oliver’s readership

We created a mini festival with Psychologies Magazine, Phillipa Perry, Oliver and The School of Life which generated news and features around ‘the happiness industry’

Oliver Burkeman continues to be one of the leading voices commenting on the self-help industry

"Angela devised brilliant publicity campaigns for both of my books, without which neither could have made the same impact. She was a fount of original ideas, easy to work with, and persistent in pursuing the best opportunities for promoting my work – I would recommend her without hesitation."
