SALT, FAT, ACID, HEAT
Samin Nosrat started working as a chef at Chez Panisse before becoming a teacher and food writer. Her first book, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, teaches how to become an instinctive cook, without the need for recipes.
We introduced Samin to the UK with the aim of establishing her as a major voice in food writing. We achieved this by firstly securing written pieces for broadsheets ahead of publication and generating support from high profile UK chefs including Yotam Ottolenghi, Nigella Lawson and Ruby Tandoh.
This helped us to successfully built pre-orders in the 4 months between the US and UK publication. We then maximised press attention with Samin's visit to London, securing interviews on Woman's Hour, in multiple broadsheets and a demo for BBC One Saturday Kitchen . We also held an exclusive event for press and booksellers to showcase the book which generated further coverage leading up to Christmas.
Since publication Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat has been named Sunday Times Food Book of the Year and in April 2018 Samin returned to London for a live interview on Saturday Kitchen and BBC Radio 4 The Food Programme as well as a sell out event at The British Library. Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat has since been shortlisted for Debut Food Book at the Fortnum & Mason Awards.
